Storm Drainage Lead Engineer

Our work in storm drainage includes stand-alone natural drainage solution projects, but the majority of our storm drainage work is in support of transportation infrastructure. Typical work includes hydraulic reports, conveyance, flow control and water quality facility design as well as green storm infrastructure solutions.

We would like to expand our presence in the marketplace with the current type of work we do, and also take on other areas of expertise including culvert replacement and design, streambank restoration, and other emerging needs for stormwater-related design that local cities need.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare hydaulic reports
  • Complete hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
  • Develop storm drainage plans and profiles using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
  • Design storm water facilities including ponds, vaults, and water quality facilities
  • Oversee design engineers and check work
  • Work directly with clients and consultant team members
  • Promote CM Design Group's stormwater capabilities in an effort to grow the firm's presence

Requirements

  • Between four and ten years of experience in storm drainage design with a focus on transportation and site design projects
  • Proficient in storm drainage modeling software including MGS Flood, WWHM and HEC-RAS
  • Experience with LID/GSI facilities
  • Focus on providing Hydraulic Reports and PS&E documents
  • Proficient in Autocad and Civil 3D
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Washington State
  • Ability to bring in clients/projects is a plus
  • Self-motivated with good communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a small office environment is important
