Transportation Project Manager

CM Design Group has developed a solid client base founded on our ability to provide accurate and complete PS&E documents for transportation, civil and site improvements, mainly for cities in the Puget Sound region.

The transportation project manager will work directly with clients and lead our in-house and sub-consultant design teams to deliver PS&E documents. This role includes taking an active role in the design process, including work in AutoCAD Civil 3D. Typical project elements include site prep, grading, drainage, paving, erosion control, signing and striping plans. Typical design work may include roadway widenings and overlays, intersection improvements, ADA curb ramps, transit stops, and pedestrian facilities. Flexibility to work on storm drainage and site design work is also a plus. Opportunities for growth are endless in our small but growing firm!

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple transportation design projects
  • Track project development and coordinate with design staff
  • Mentor and train junior engineering staff
  • Be active in at least one professional society
  • Support in project proposals/marketing
  • Maintain existing client relationships and build future client base

Requirements

  • Up to fifteen years of experience designing municipal transportation projects
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (PE) in Washington State
  • Knowledgeable in all facets of PS&E documents including developing special provisions, quantity take-offs, cost estimates and plan sets
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D and Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Organized and able to manage small teams of designers
  • Self-motivated with good communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a small office environment
